Easter Egg Hunt

Easter celebrates the Christ's resurrection from the dead following his Death on Good Friday.  There are some traditions like the Easter Egg Hunt that remind us of the circle of rebirth and the need for renewal in our lives.  My students looked for some information on the internet about this tradition and then we talked about it.  They also worked in teams to hunt for hidden eggs (in our case table tennis balls) all around the classroom.  The team that found the most eggs won chocolate bars as a prize.

The main objective of this activity was to learn about the Easter History and some of the Traditions.  It included new words and expressions in English related to them.

Happy Easter!

Why do we have Easter eggs and the Easter Bunny?

Most of us associate eggs and bunnies to the Easter time, but do we really know the meaning of them?  Maybe not. There are some traditions associated with them ...

It is a good idea to ask students to look for some information about how Easter is celebrated in different countries around the world and get advantage of that to learn new vocabulary and expressions.  Easter picture dictation, Easter cards, Easter Bingo, Easter egg hunt, Storytelling, Easter videos are just some ideas for the class.
